As trusted remodel contractors in Phoenix, we approached every detail with precision. The result is a home that seamlessly integrates functionality, comfort, and beauty. ## **Interior Renovation** Every detail of the home’s interior was reimagined to achieve a harmonious balance of form and function. New high-end finishes throughout the space brought a fresh aesthetic, while smart home integration introduced modern convenience.  Key areas, such as the kitchen—now featuring a new butler’s pantry—and the office, were strategically relocated to create a seamless, intuitive flow that enhances daily living. ## **structural upgrades** We elevated the home’s design with raised ceilings, restructured rooflines, and a foundation-leveling plan that ensured a seamless floor height throughout. These thoughtful upgrades modernized the structure while fostering a sense of continuity, effortlessly connecting every space. ## **outdoor living** The outdoor spaces were transformed into a luxurious extension of the home, designed for relaxation and entertainment. This included a new heated pool and spa, multiple fire features, putting green, bocce ball court, and a thoughtfully landscaped cactus garden. ## **creative design features** Every design element was chosen to impress. Handmade terracotta roof tiles from Mexico, permanent programmable exterior lighting, and a striking 20-foot multi-slide pocket door for a bold indoor-outdoor transition. ## **enhanced functionality** Behind the beauty lies practicality. The home is now equipped with a robust propane service, state-of-the-art security systems, and an advanced active air makeup system, ensuring healthier cooking environments and peace of mind. ## **spaces to gather** Special attention was given to spaces designed to bring people together and make memories that last a lifetime. The tavern area, heated outdoor patio, and BBQ island became upgraded hubs of connection and relaxation. Put it all together, and the result is a stunning example of home renovation in Phoenix, AZ, blending timeless elegance with innovative features that elevate everyday living. ![bathroom remodel in phoenix az with dark cabinets and custom wallpaper](https://mgdbuildersaz.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Blog%20Images%20(65).jpg?width=1240&height=824&name=Blog%20Images%20(65).jpg "bathroom remodel in phoenix az with dark cabinets and custom wallpaper") ## what sets the Mertel remodel apart The Mertel Remodel is a true testament to what can be achieved with bold ideas, thoughtful design, and expert craftsmanship. The home now combines stunning curb appeal with a modernized layout, offering inviting spaces inside and out. Adding unique details—like a dedicated home gym, epoxy-coated garage flooring, and customized lighting—ensures this property is as functional as it is beautiful. But what truly sets this project apart is the remarkable relationship we built with Mark Mertel. Working together, we transformed more than a house; we created a space that reflects his personality, values, and vision. ![MGD Builders Whole Home Remodel team with client](https://mgdbuildersaz.com/hubfs/Blog%20Images%20(61).jpg) > ## Client Testimonial > > “The remodeling of my home was a significant project of over 5,000 square feet.
